Interesting: Steven Naismith insists NO Hearts sack fears as he will admit when time is up…..
Steven Naismith insists he doesn’t fear for his Hearts job because HE will be the one to hold his hands up and admit when his time is up
The Jambos suffered yet another defeat today, their third from four league games and sixth in all competitions after being knocked out of the league cup by Championship Falkirk and the Europa League over two legs by Viktoria Plzen. They were uninspiring once more against Dundee United and drew a blank in front of goal again
They now have just two goals this season with both coming as consolations in 3-1 defeats to Dundee and Motherwell. Unrest is growing among the fan base and there has been a belief that the head coach’s position is at risk. He has no worries though and says when he feels he can’t turn things round, he will admit it
Speaking at his post-match presser, Naismith was asked about job fears and said: “No because if that time comes, that time will come. The moment I don’t think I can turn it around, I will tell the club. It’s not something that I will be hanging on to if I do get to that point
There has been a decent turnover in players. They’re a good group, they work well. But, ultimately, we need to show more on the pitch. We needed to be a harder team to beat, we need to have more of a ruthless streak and we need to have more of a swagger and say ‘no, we’re going to give all we can and not fear what might happen in a negative sense. Because I feel we’re doing that too much.
