Norwich City have confirmed the long-term signing of Nigerian-born striker Daniel Ogwura on a contract until the end of the 2022-23 season. The Canaries added in a statement that Ogwuru will begin his time at Carrow Road with their academy sides. Ogwuru cites Manchester City academy graduate Rico Lewis, who played 24 times for the first team under manager Pep Guardiola, as a role model. Ogwuru is linked to 2023 Flying Eagles call-up Kenny Coker and former Chelsea schoolboy, Dubem Eze, at Norwich City alongside Emile Adegboyega.

Nottingham Forest have agreed a five year deal with Republic of Ireland defender Andrew Oomamidele from fellow EFL side Norwich City.Oomamidele, 21, made his professional debut for the Canaries in January 2021 when they won their first Sky Bet Championship title under Daniel Farke. Oomamidele joined the Canaries in 2019 after a successful loan spell at Leixlip Utd. He will now spend the next five years at the City Ground, with the option of a further year at the end of the season.

The following season saw Omobamidele dip his toes in the Premier League, where he showcased his potential in five matches and recorded his maiden top-flight goal against Leeds United in October 2021.

His skills didn’t go unnoticed on the international stage either. After his full international debut for the Republic of Ireland in September 2021, he went on to represent his nation on five more occasions.

Ross Wilson, Nottingham Forest’s Chief Football Officer, expressed his enthusiasm regarding the signing, stating, “Andrew has attracted considerable attention since his emergence at Norwich City, already experiencing Premier League, Championship and international football.”

Wilson further commented on Omobamidele’s potential, adding, “He is one of the most exciting young defenders in the country at this time and we are delighted to welcome him to the club.”
