Norwich City: Gabby Sara's Championship report card | The Pink Un during the summer window, but the Whites had three enquiries rejected. Wagner is confident that the former Leeds midfielder, Adam Forshaw, will be a great addition to the Canaries’ squad once he is fully fit. “I’ve never been so impressed by a player in my life, he does everything so deliberately, he makes the right passes, has great vision and is very aggressive,” Wagner said on Thursday. “If it takes a few more days or not, that shouldn’t be the main thing for us right now. I’m really happy with how the first three or four weeks have gone.

He has had a busy pre-season, having featured in 45 minutes of the under-21s and 20 minutes of the cup. Wagner is confident that he will be able to gain further playing time and will be able to make his first start in the near future. He is hopeful that he will remain healthy throughout the season, and that he is a highly talented player. Wagner is also optimistic that Sara will improve further, noting that he is still eager to learn the game and is at the age where he is able to learn every game. “He is very fit and athletic, and he loves to play every match,” Wagner added. “It is clear that he plays a lot in Brazil, and if our midfield, Kenny, Gabby and possibly Forsy, are all healthy and performing at their best, then I will not switch them with any other midfield in the division.”

“You can add Nacho (Marcelino Nunez) and Liam (Gibbs) as well. Obviously then they have to play their part. They have to perform on the level which they are capable of. But if they do, we have a group together in midfield which can take on everyone, who can challenge everyone.”

“And this is where we have to make sure that everyone is in the best shape, best fitness shape as well. And then we have players in midfield who can dictate the game and this is what you need. If your midfield is below par you normally struggle.

“And we have to make sure, and this was the case in most of the recent games, including the pre-season, that our midfield was quite strong.”
