Former Pompey fan David Norris will have many happy memories from his 17-year and 455-appearance Football League career.

Few experiences can compare to scoring a last-minute equalizer for the Blues in a south coast derby against Southampton at St Mary’s in April 2012. That secures the 42-year-old a spot in Fratton legend as well as a couple complimentary drinks on any future visits to PO4.

Winning the League Two title with Plymouth in 2003-04 will also be remembered fondly by the midfielder, who is currently on the books of Northern leading League leading club Lancaster City.

Meanwhile, playing for clubs such as Leeds, Ipswich, Hull, Peterborough, and Blackpool will guarantee that Norris has a career to be proud of when the time comes to hang up his boots.

On a personal level, those memories are priceless. However, Norris is eager to do just that with some of the memorabilia he’s amassed over the years, including the shirts he’s worn on game days and those he’s swapped with opponents.

Indeed, he’s open to bids on a slew of jerseys he’s worn for his separate clubs – and has been hawking them all on X, formerly Twitter, to drum up interest.

The huge sale began on September 16, when the well-traveled player posted a photo of his incredible collection with the message: ‘DM offers..will sell most…”Almost all of them are matchworn, and several are signed.’
On Friday, however, the focus was on three shirts from his Fratton Park days.

One is a top worn during the derby draw at Saints, a true collector’s piece for any Blues fan.

Norris, on the other hand, is eager to point out that it was not the shirt he was wearing when his magnificent left-foot volley soared into the back of Kelvin Davis’ net on that memorable April 7 day. He appears to be retaining it for the time being!

It’s unclear why Norris is selling some of his favorite possessions, which include a signed and framed Dirk Kuyt-worn Liverpool shirt during the 2006-07 Champions League campaign.

Nonetheless, it is creating a lot of interest, with supporters eager to learn more about the idea of owning a piece of their club’s history.
Norris has played for non-league clubs Shaw Lane, Boston United, and recently Lancaster City since his last appearance in the Football League for Salford.
Away from football, the former Pompey fan is a co-owner of the Bolton-based gym CrossFit UF, which has 12 boxers on its roster.
The super-fit 42-year-old is also a personal trainer, with prior clients like Ashley Barnes, Max Power Alex, and others.
