Celtic officially make fantastic triple announcement

Celtic winger Hyunjun Yang appears to be settling in nicely in Scotland.

Following weeks of speculation, the South Korean winger made the move from Gangwon in late July. Since then, the 21-year-old has been a semi-regular presence in Celtic’s lineup, coming off the bench and starting the odd game.

Yang has been adjusting to his new surroundings in Scotland while also earning his first senior international cap. He seemed to be doing well in that regard.

“There are three Korean players here, including myself, so we’re helping each other, so I’ve had no difficulties settling,” he stated at a post-Motherwell press conference.

“The language has been the most significant change for me.” I’m taking English classes, but I want to develop as rapidly as possible so that I can converse without relying on a translation.

“I usually catch one or two words inside the huddle!” So I’m only just getting the message.” (From The Scotsman)

It’s encouraging to hear that Yang is taking the initiative to study English and is willing to step outside of his comfort zone in media appearances.

At 21, he is still quite young and in the early stages of a five-year deal with Celtic. The early indications are encouraging.

The attacker is inexperienced, as seen by recent performances. He’s a tricky customer, capable of weaving away from opposing defenders with relative ease.

So yet, his obvious problem has been a lack of finished goods. Except for the assist on Matt O’Riley’s clincher against Aberdeen, he hasn’t really contributed much in a Celtic shirt. He’s had plenty of chances to do so as well.

We are confident that item will arrive in time for him. He appears to be a bright young man eager to make the most of his abilities. We might not see his finest until next season and beyond.
