Wife of Eagles’ Darius Slay calls out ‘sickening’ social media treatment
Jennifer Slay is “sick” of the online vitriol.
In a message shared on X, the wife of Eagles cornerback Darius Slay called out the negativity she’s received on social media as the team looks to bounce back from consecutive losses to the San Francisco 49ers and Dallas Cowboys.
“Real sh** … the amount of negativety [sic] I get is honestly sickening. I be tryna be so positive on this app and spread so much love for me to get so much hate. S–t makes no sense! It’s sad honestly!!! Smh,” Jennifer posted Sunday, the same day the Eagles were blown out by the Cowboys, 33-13.
Jennifer’s message comes amid a challenging time for the Birds, who have stalled since their 10-1 start.
Philadelphia lost 42-19 at home to the 49ers on Dec. 3, before they were defeated soundly by the Cowboys in primetime over the weekend.
Slay — who is in his fourth season in Philadelphia after re-signing with the Eagles in the offseason — addressed the chirps from critics Monday on X after a fan wrote signs on trash cans that read, “No play Slay,” and “Bradberry,” referencing his teammate, cornerback James Bradberry.
“Yall tough for this one,” Slay, 32, posted.
The five-time Pro Bowler has since changed his X avatar to the photo of the trash cans.
