Football League World have picked two QPR players who could leave between now and September 1st and it wouldn’t be a surprise.
The transfer window is entering its final week before it closes until January, and teams like Queens Park Rangers will be keen to wrap up any late business they wish to do.
The Rs have made an okay start to the Championship season, but they will hope a few more additions could help them climb up the table.
The club has brought in seven new players so far this window, and no doubt Gareth Ainsworth will be keen to add to that.
However, while they hope attention will be on what players come into the club, there is still time for some players to leave.
Which 2 players could leave QPR between now and September 1st?
Here at Football League World, we have looked at two players who could leave QPR, and it wouldn’t come as a surprise…
This is probably an obvious one for most QPR fans, but there is still time for Ilias Chair to leave the West London club.
Once the 2022/23 season had ended, many QPR fans and fans in general expected Chair to leave the Rs this summer. This was due to the club’s poor run at the end of the campaign and the fact that the club may just look to cash in on the Moroccan while his stock is high.
However, at this stage, that is yet to happen, and that might surprise many, given how well Chair has performed in the Championship in the last few seasons.
The midfielder is still under contract for another two seasons, so the club is not in a rush to sell, but it may be time as the window comes to a close that he wants to try a new challenge.
Leicester City were credited with an interest in the player back in May, as he was identified as a potential replacement for James Maddison. Talk of a move went quiet, but it has since been reported that the Foxes do retain an interest in the player, and they could firm up their interest before the window closes.
So, with Leicester remaining keen, it wouldn’t come as a surprise to see Chair leave QPR and join a team that may have different aims for the season.
Chris Willock
Again, it may not come as a total surprise that Chris Willock’s name is being mentioned when it comes to possible exits from QPR.
It has been claimed in recent reports that out of the two players mentioned, it would be Willock that QPR would be willing to sell this summer.
While it has also been reported that Bristol City are keen on the player and are weighing up a possible move before the deadline.
The 25-year-old has only got 12 months remaining on his contract at QPR, and it would seem that what remains of this transfer window represents the best time for the club to get a decent fee for the player.
Gareth Ainsworth has come out and stated he wants Willock to stay, and of course he would, as the midfielder is one of his best players at the club. But with his contract situation being what it is, if the club were to receive an offer for the player, they may be tempted to sell him, as he would likely leave for nothing 12 months down the line.

Fulham striker Jay Stansfield is of interest to Sunderland and Queens Park Rangers in the Championship ahead of the deadline on September 1st.
Last season, the 20-year-old impressed during a temporary spell in League One with his dad Adam’s former club Exeter City, where he scored nine goals and collected seven assists in 39 appearances in all competitions.
It is thought that a step up to a higher level is the best thing for Stansfield at this stage of his development, with plenty of Championship clubs being linked with a move for the Fulham man.
It was initially reported that QPR were one of four Championship clubs who are keen on a deal for Stansfield this summer, but other possible destinations for the striker have since come to light.
As exclusively revealed by Football League World, Sunderland and Millwall are also among the list of clubs who are keen to sign the 20-year-old on a season-long loan in the second tier.
Since then, journalist Darren Witcoop has claimed that it is now between QPR and Sunderland who are pushing the hardest to complete a deal for the striker, suggesting the battle for his services may soon be reaching its final stages over the next few days.
Who do the pundits think Stansfield should choose – Sunderland or QPR?
The striker has a decision to make on his short-term future, and former England and Leeds midfielder Carlton Palmer feels as though the Black Cats are well-placed to sign Stansfield, even with the benefit of QPR being in close proximity to his home in West London.
Speaking exclusively to Football League World, he said: “QPR and Sunderland are said to be battling it out for young striker Jay Stansfield.
“He’s a very, very talented player. Personally, I think given the styles of play – with no disrespect to QPR, who’s manager plays a more direct style of football – he should choose Sunderland.
“They play through the lines and I think that would be a better fit for him. The only plus for QPR is that he stays in London. Gareth Ainsworth is a very good manager but I, for one, thought that they would struggle this season.
“Okay, they have picked up two defeats in three and I still think they’re going to be down the bottom of the league, but if you look at Sunderland and what they’ve achieved in comparison, I’d still expect them to be there and thereabouts in the play-offs come the end of the season.
“Although they haven’t had the greatest of starts, you look at what they’ve achieved last season.”
What’s the next career move for Stansfield?
Palmer is correct to point out the play styles of both sides, as well as the current trajectory of both clubs, with Stansfield also fitting into the ethos of predominantly young players with plenty of potential at Sunderland.
That forward-thinking model makes sense from Stansfield’s point of view, although remaining in London is surely also a temptation, too.
Tony Mowbray will get him playing football with a strong attacking supporting cast around him as well, which could be the thing to take his development into the next phase and a much higher quality level.
