Odobert becomes the ninth player to join Burnley during this summer transfer window.

Upon his introduction to the Turf Moor faithful, Odobert commented, “I was drawn to the vision of the club. The synergy between the manager, the team, and the community of Burnley stood out. My aim is to ensure consistent playtime and give my best for the club.”

Odobert began his footballing journey with Paris Saint-Germain’s academy in 2017.

Despite his promising progression through the ranks, he declined a professional contract with PSG.

Instead, in a pursuit for regular first-team football, he chose to ply his trade with Troyes.

Highlighting his playing attributes, the 18-year-old stated, “I prefer an offensive approach, leveraging my dribbling skills and pace. I am primed for the Premier League, and I am eager to begin this new chapter.”

Manuel Akanji raises Man City expectations for Treble defence after Burnley win

Manchester City defender Manuel Akanji is not expecting motivation to be a problem this season

Manuel Akanji said Manchester City are out to win even more this season after completing the Treble.

Ilkay Gundogan and Riyad Mahrez are among the players to have moved on this summer looking for a new challenge, and other exits are expected. However, Josko Gvardiol and Mateo Kovacic have both arrived with more signings under consideration as Pep Guardiola looks to maintain the team’s standards.

One obvious question facing the squad is motivation, given they achieved so much last season. City’s squad have had to lift themselves in previous years after winning the Premier League title, yet finally clinching the Champions League – and doing it as part of a historic Treble – was a moment that will unlikely be topped in their careers.

That will not stop the City squad from trying though, and a 3-0 win at Burnley on the opening night of their Premier League defence was an impressive start with Akanji helping the team pick up a clean sheet despite the absences of defenders John Stones and Ruben Dias. As well as having designs on keeping hold of the trophies they have already won, the Swiss centre-back spoke of the ambitions to win the trophies they didn’t manage; the Super Cup, Club World Cup and Carabao Cup are all on offer.

“Nobody gets tired of winning titles, so we keep going. The next challenge is to win every possible title this year – that’s our goal,” said Akanji. “It’s really hard to do it but it’s the mindset that we have at this club and we’re going for it.

“[Gundogan and Mahrez] were big players for us – big leaders in the team who were here for a long time. These are not easy shoes to fill but we’ve got new players who have come in – Mateo and Josko.

“Mateo did a great job today when he came in for Kevin [De Bruyne] and Josko with the minutes he played at the back – he was really solid. We’ve got a season to look forward
