Luton Town – The Perfect Choice
With Sonny Bradley having opted to leave the Hatters, to join Derby County, Rob Edwards had to decide who he should appoint as our club captain.
As it turned out, our gaffer has chosen Tom Lockyer, our centre-back who has improved dramatically since Edwards took over.
Tom oozes confidence and has that natural leadership trait whilst also being more than capable of fulfilling his defensive duties.
The last we saw Tom in a competitive fixture, we were all fearful that something dreadful had happened as he was carried off the Wembley pitch on a stretcher are suddenly collapsing.
Thankfully, minor surgery identified the problem, and the player was given the go-ahead to continue his Luton Town career.
This afternoon, down in Brighton, when Tom leads the team out in our first top-flight game in over three decades, I’m sure he’ll get a tumultuous roar from the travelling Luton Town support.
Like it says in the article title, for me, Tom was the perfect choice for the position of captain, but do you concur, or disagree?
