The 29-year-old has spent his entire career in Scotland, with Motherwell, Livingstone and Ayr United amongst his former clubs. He is now subject to interest south of the border with a host of League One and League Two clubs interested in the Irvine-born midfielder.
Signing for Greenock Morton from Partick Thistle last August, Crawford enjoyed a particularly prolific campaign as he scored nine goals in 42 appearances for the Scottish Championship club.

Providing four goals and six assists in his first campaign at Cappielow Park last term, Crawford has started the 2023-24 campaign where he left off with five goals and two assists in all competitions this season. He is capable of playing multiple rolls in the middle of the park.

It has been reported that the Scotsman would require a fee, with a five figure buyout clause being featured in the midfielder’s contract which expires in 2024.

EFL Interest

With no interested clubs named in the report, the midfielder’s potential destination remains to be seen. There are additional reports of interests from Scottish Premiership clubs, which is no surprise to see considering the midfielder’s five figure buyout with a year remaining on his contract.

I am not surprised to see that there is interest in the midfielder following a particularly impressive twelve months. Questions remain on whether Greenock Morton would want to cash in on the player given the length of his contract or keep a very important player while running the risk of losing him for nothing.

Having spent his entire career in the Scottish football pyramid, it remains to be seen whether a move south of the border would appeal to the player.
