Liverpool ace could realistically depart Anfield for Saudi Arabia in 2024
Mohamed Salah move to Saudi Pro League from Liverpool only feasible in 2024
Liverpool superstar Mohamed Salah is being eyed by teams in Saudi Arabia, but a move will only be feasible next summer, according to CBS Sports’ Ben Jacobs on Twitter.
As things stand, the Egypt international is committed to the Reds and is intent on staying at the Merseyside outfit this summer. While the interest from the Middle Eastern country is genuine, they will only move for him in 2024.
At the moment, the forward still has almost two years left on his deal (transfermarkt). But he will enter the final 12 months of the deal next summer. Therefore, the Anfield side will then have to consider offers in order to cash in on the 31-year-old.
The public Investment Fund (PIF) will lead the attempt to acquire the services of Salah. Al-Ittihad and Al-Hilal have had the winger on their radar in the past.
Saudi Arabia has emerged as a dominant market in recent weeks. The Middle Eastern country has seen several top players join them over the last few months. It started with Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar is the latest big-name acquisition by the Saudi Pro League.
Thus, it would not be a surprise to see them succeed in enticing the Egyptian to make a move next summer. It remains to be seen how things will unfold.
Liverpool signed Salah in the summer of 2017 from AS Roma. At that time, it did not seem like an inspiring addition to the team. However, the forward has exceeded those initial expectations at the Reds.
Since then, the Egyptian has been our talisman. He has found the back of the net on a consistent basis for us and has been a creative outlet in the attack as well.
