Report: La Liga side complete bargain £1.7m signing of Leeds and West Brom target

Birmingham et FC Midtjylland trouvent un accord pour Sory Kaba | Conakrysports

A report from Spanish site La Provincia claims newly-promoted La Liga side Las Palmas have completed the signing

of Sory Kaba from FC Midtjylland in a deal worth £1.7m – amid reports Leeds and West Brom were interested in

him.

It comes after Guinea star Kaba spent the second half of last season on loan at Cardiff, scoring eight in 17 matches

and playing a crucial part in keeping Cardiff in the Championship. Returning to Midtjylland, his deal ends in 2024.

But if Spanish reports are now to be believed, it appears Kaba is off to Spain. It sees him join a Spanish side that gained promotion back to the top tier last season. Las Palmas have agreed a £1.3m fee – plus, £400k in add-ons.

A bargain. A player that managed to score one in every two games in the Championship last season, for a side that ended up in 21st place – one above the drop zone. To get him for just £1.7m is incredible business from Las Palmas.

It should also be seen as a trick missed, by Leeds. The Whites are struggling to spend cash, so bargains need to be the order of the day. We need a striker, a bit of physicality up top. A no.9 that allows us to swing a cross into the box.

Kaba is that. Proven in the Championship, physical, quick but also good in the air – he would have been a wonderful signing given the fee required to land him. But instead, he is off to play in the top tier of Spain with Las Palmas.

Leeds will receive no loan fee for Harrison

Newcastle risking Leeds wrath with curious Jack Harrison bid; Marsch comment speaks volumes

Good Morning. It’s Tuesday 16th August, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road…

No loan fee for Harrison

It has been revealed that the stipulations of Jack Harrison’s contract mean Everton do not have to pay Leeds a loan

fee for his services. They triggered the relegation clause in his contract merely by picking up the phone to his agent,

and can return him back to Elland Road once the’re done with him.

He joined Leeds back in 2018 from Manchester City, but spent the first three years on loan, for which Leeds paid

£9m. Although powerless to stop him, the club’s lay down and die attitude doesn’t sit right with the Leeds fans and

rightly so.

Given how Everton have blatantly disregarded financial fair play rules, for Jacko to go to Goodison Park shows a

total lack of respect towards both the club and it’s fans. Shame on Luke Ayling, Patrick Bamford and Junior Firpo for

publicly wishing him well at Everton.

Will Leeds surrender to Everton pressure?

Everton have no plans on giving up on signing want-a-way forward Wilfred Gnonto this Summer. The explosive

winger has had his head turned in recent weeks following a Summer of discontent at Elland Road, which have seen

the majority of last season’s first XI depart the club on what can only be described as a ‘Wilko’ style closing down

sale.

The bullying tactic has rubbed off on Gnonto, who has now refused to play. The Italian International is one of only a

few players not to have a relegation clause in his contract, and as such, Leeds should tell their Merseyside rivals

where to go, but it seems Leeds have lost their bottle!!!

Whilst there isn’t much they can do if the players have clauses in their contracts, the silence from the ER hierarchy is

deafening. Surely, there needs to be some sort of internal enquiry to find out how things went so terribly wrong!
