A Shock:  Tottenham defender Sanchez with centre back on the chopping block this summer…

Monaco have turned their attention to Tottenham centre back Davinson Sanchez.

As reported by Mail Sport earlier this week, the Ligue 1 club are now eyeing up the defender after seeing a bid rejected for Fulham‘s Tosin Adarabioyo.

Sanchez, 27, is among the Spurs players who may leave this summer, with boss Ange Postecoglou‘s reshaping of his squad in his first season already well underway.

Spartak Moscow made a £12.9million bid for Sanchez earlier in the window and Spurs accepted the offer, but the Colombian was reluctant to make the move.

Galatasaray are among his other potential suitors, it is understood.

However, Monaco may now express their interest and are open to signing another centre back despite snapping up Mohammed Salisu from Southampton.

Sanchez made 18 appearances in all competitions last season but finds himself behind Cristian Romero and recent arrival Micky van de Ven in the pecking order.

He joined Spurs for just over £40m in 2017, and the club are braced to make a loss.

Meanwhile, it is believed Spurs may be willing to offer cash plus Sanchez as a potential makeweight in their chase of Nottingham Forest winger Brennan Johnson.

Chelsea are rivalling Spurs for his signature, and paramount to his decision will be the amount of playing time he expects this campaign.

Johnson, valued at £50m, was considered before Chelsea moved for Michael Olise, who will now remain at Crystal Palace after signing a new contract.

Former Manchester United striker Dwight Yorke suggests Tottenham to sign Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku this summer.

Yorke has also mentioned his former club as the other team that should be looking to sign the Belgian international.

While what Yorke is trying to say is right, Lukaku’s latest spell in the Premier League wasn’t encouraging for everyone to see.

Ange Postecoglou of Tottenham Hotspur,

He came for big money to Chelsea in 2021 and had an underwhelming 2021/22 season before moving back to Inter Milan on loan.

The 30-year-old struggled for form and consistency in his spell at Manchester United as well. So, it is not as if he hasn’t got the chance to do well for a top Premier League club. The only time he was good in this league was many years ago for Everton.

Moreover, he is 30 now. Having let go of Kane, it would be preferable if Spurs aim to sign a younger centre-forward and give Ange Postecoglou a chance to develop him into a goal-scoring machine for years to come.

It would be so much if Spurs take that route to solve their centre-forward issue rather than lumping a sum of money at Lukaku. It would be a short-term solution for a player that would divide opinions within the fanbase from day 1.
