Burnley And Tottenham Hotspur keen on Ernest Nuamah deal?

The 19-year-old has enjoyed a stellar start to the 2023-24 campaign in the Danish Superligaen, scoring five goals in his side’s opening quartet of fixtures, including a hat-trick against Viborg on July 21.

Since making his debut for the club in December 2021, Nuamah has made the net ripple on 20 occasions in 48 games – a goal record which has made plenty of clubs around Europe monitor his progress.

The winger earned his first-ever cap for Ghana over the summer, featuring off the bench during an Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Madagascar on June 18.

According to the Daily Mail, Premier League clubs Tottenham Hotspur and Burnley are keen on bringing Nuamah to England before the transfer window slams shut on September 1.

The report claims that Vincent Kompany‘s Clarets are more advanced than any other club in their attempts to secure the services of the Ghanaian, although a deal is not yet close to completion.

Last season’s Championship winners are looking to add firepower to their squad as they aim to avoid an immediate return to the second tier, with winger Nathan Tella returning to parent club Southampton following a productive campaign at Turf Moor in 2022-23.

Ange Postecoglou‘s Spurs are said to have made an enquiry about a possible deal for Nuamah, as the Lilywhites’ new Australian head coach looks to build a team capable of achieving a top-four finish.

It is understood that Everton are also interested in signing the Nordsjaelland youngster, with the Toffees hoping to distance themselves from a relegation scrap this term.

The finances of the deal could be prohibitive for Sean Dyche‘s men, who have spent just under £15m so far this summer on four incomings, including Arnaut Danjuma and Sporting Lisbon’s Youssef Chermiti.

There is said to be some major European players monitoring Nuamah’s situation this summer, with Paris Saint-GermainAjax and AC Milan all taking note of the 19-year-old’s performances in Denmark.

The report adds that the winger is rated at £22m – a price tag which should not scare Spurs following the sale of all-time leading goalscorer Harry Kane to Bayern Munich for over £100m.

Despite Postecoglou’s men being in the race for Nuamah, it is believed that their main focus is on securing another centre-back before the end of the transfer window.

New arrival Micky van de Ven started alongside Cristian Romero in Spurs’ Premier League opener at Brentford last weekend, however the Argentinian had to be replaced after just 14 minutes following a head injury
