Everton transfer news as financial claim emerges amid west ham interest in Goncalo borges
West Ham and Everton have the financial capacity to secure the services of FC Porto winger Goncalo Borges this summer, according to A Bola.
The Portuguese newspaper reported on Sunday (20 August) that the Hammers have the funds to sign the Portuguese attacker for £12.8million.
The 22-year-old is understood to be on his way out of the club this summer and the Toffees will also be looking to snap him up.
The Hammers need wide attackers this summer and signing Borges could be a good left-field option for them.
As things stand, it seems that only Everton are the other side in contention to sign him so they can easily beat them to his services.
West Ham can offer the 22-year-old European football and higher wages than their counterparts who are battling numerous issues.
They do not have a nine-figure windfall coming in this summer and also are battling issues with FFP so it’s going to be a challenge for them.
Hopefully, West Ham act quickly and get this deal done as they already messed up signing Carlos Borges from Manchester City.
They need one or two wide players before the window closes as they’re quite weak in that area of the pitch.
