Team News, Form and Prediction as Oxford United Welcome Charlton
The U’s enjoyed a memorable week last time out with away wins at Derby and Barnsley. Those three points followed their first victory of the season in their opening home match against Carlisle.
Results have almost been the opposite for the Addicks. Unlike Oxford, Charlton won their opening game of the season but have lost their last four matches, including three in the league against Peterborough, Bristol Rovers and Ports Vale.
Jordan Thorniley is still out for the U’s while Marcus Browne was forced off at Oakwell. Summer signing Panutche Camara is a doubt for the visitors, who are also without Chuks Aneke, Miles Leaburn and Scott Fraser.
The U’s could welcome new signing Greg Leigh in the matchday squad following his arrival from Ipswich.
Oxford have a good record against Charlton in recent seasons. The Addicks have just one win from the last six meetings, with the U’s picking up three victories in that run. Since Charlton’s relegation to League One in 2016, the Addicks have just that solitary win in 13 meetings.
Predicted line-up: James Beadle, Ciaron Brown, Stephan Negru, Elliott Moore, Sam Long, Josh McEachran, Marcus McGuane, Cameron Brannagan, Tyler Goodrham, Stanley Mills, Mark Harris.
Prediction: Oxford United 2-0 Charlton Athletic
