‘Here we go’: Fabrizio Romano confirms that £25m attacker will join Everton this weekend

Beto will join Everton in the coming days.

That’s according to Fabrizio Romano, who has said ‘here we go!’ on the Udinese striker’s move to Goodison Park.

The Toffees only opened talks with the Italian club earlier this week and looked set to lose out on Beto when they saw their initial bid turned down.

However, they have since had an improved offer accepted by Udinese. Romano has claimed that the fee is over the initial €30m (£25m) valuation but under his €35m (£30m) release clause.

Writing on his Twitter account, Romano said: “Beto to Everton, here we go! Agreement in place for fee in excess of €30m but under €35m clause, as revealed earlier today.

“Beto will travel to Merseyside tonight in order to complete medical on Sunday. Udinese accepted the proposal, now time for formal steps.”

Beto joins Everton after scoring 21 goals over the last two seasons in Serie A, while he also featured for the club in their opening day defeat to Juventus last weekend.

Udinese have reportedly made an approach to Juve to land their striker Kaio Jorge on loan, suggesting they are already looking to bring in a replacement for Beto.

With the 25-year-old set to undergo his medical tomorrow, the Toffees will be hopeful they can seal the seal on Monday.

Everton could sign Beto with days to spare

Beto may be available to make his debut in the Carabao Cup clash with Doncaster Rovers on Wednesday, though fans can expect to see him feature against Sheffield United next week.

Sean Dyche will be relieved to see the move get across the line after failing in a number of striker pursuits this summer.

Everton looked extremely likely to land Che Adams last week after submitting a £15 million bid for the Southampton striker, though they quickly turned their attention to Beto.

Adams was left out of Saints’ win over QPR today, which comes as a big surprise as Beto nears his move to the Premier League.
