Loan Round-Up: Promising weekend for Town loanees

Loan Round-Up: Promising weekend for Town loanees

Successful involvements for the majority of Swindon loanees

An update on several members of the Swindon first-team and academy squads’ involvements for their loan clubs.

Tomi Adeloye

The forward marked his temporary return to Scottish football with a well-taken finish against Greenock Morton in a 4-1 victory in the Scottish Championship.

Coming off the bench to make his mark, the forward picked up the ball on the left-hand side before cutting inside and firing into the far corner to give his Partick side a comprehensive victory at Cappielow.

Ricky Aguiar

The young midfielder played out a difficult game over the weekend, losing their spot at the top of the table in the National League South, following their 4-0 defeat at Braintree.

This unfortunate result comes after a number of promising performances from Aguiar as he and his Worthing side look to respond in their next fixture against Hemel Hempstead on Saturday.

Archie Milne

The young defender made his Corsham debut over the weekend and showed why he deserved his place in the starting XI, with a player-of-the-match performance against Fairford Town in their 1-1 draw.

Jake Young nominated for Sky Bet League Two Player of the Month

Forward nominated for monthly accolade in August

Swindon Town forward Jake Young has been nominated for August’s Sky Bet League Two Player of the Month Award.

A dream month for Young who scored seven goals, including four in 24 minutes against Crawley, in just four games.

The winner will be announced at 6am this coming Friday (8 September).

The 22-year-old will come up against the following players in the hope of receiving the first monthly award of the 2023/24 season:

Abo Eisa (Grimsby Town) – winger

Staged his own goal-of-the-month competition with a trio of strikes from outside the area among his four goals in five games. Defences knew what he would do, but still had no answer to stunning angled efforts against Mansfield and Walsall.

Will Evans (Newport County) – striker

Six goals – half of Newport’s August total – in five games for a striker who offers a physical presence on and off the ball. Dominant in the air, he also showed his strength and pace to run beyond defenders with two goals at Forest Green.

Davis Keillor-Dunn (Mansfield Town) – striker

Amid a swathe of Mansfield injuries, Keillor-Dunn stood tall in August with five goals and an assist in five games. Playing behind the front two, he arrived late in the box for two precise strikes at Crewe and a superb curler against Stockport.
