Man City are planning to bring in Evan Ferguson in 2024 to form a top-level attack with Erling Haanand.
Premier League giants Manchester City are on the brink of a £150 million move for Brighton starlet Evan Ferguson, it has been reported. Ferguson has made an impressive start to life at the Seagulls, scoring ten goals in all competitions so far this season. According to reports Man City are interested in the talented striker, who scored a hat-trick against Newcastle last weekend to take his total to four goals in his first five games. It has been suggested that the Blues want to bring Ferguson to the club to link up with goal-scorer Erling haaland, who is valued at £150 million, to form a fearsome strike combination. The report goes on to say that the transfer fee for Ferguson is likely to be more than £115 million, which would be more than the British record £115 million Moises Caiceda cost Chelsea.
Ferguson, on the other hand, has been compared to former England internationals Alan Shearer and Wayne Rooney, as well as current striker Harry Kane. Brighton boss De Zerbi has likened him to Italian great Christian Vieri when asked who he reminds him of. De Zerbi told The Daily Mail that “Christian Vieri was a left-footed player, Bobo Vieri is a right-footed player, Evan is right, but their characteristics are very similar. I have an Italian colleague in the room, so please explain to everyone that they are very similar because I am very tired.” However, De Zerbi added that Bobo Vieri “was a great player, Molto forte, very strong. He scored over 200 goals and he worked in the same areas that Evan did. “I can tell just by looking at him, his movement, touch
and understanding of the game that he is a very special talent already,” De Zerbi added. Will Ferguson follow Haaland to the Etihad next season? Watch this space.
