The Wolverhampton Wanderers player is in the squad which is starting this new cycle with Brazil, and will work as hard as he can to not lose that spot again.

Cunha now held a press conference to speak to Brazilian journalists, and as quoted by Globo Esporte, he talked about his adaption to the Premier League.

Just a couple of months following his arrival at Wolves, the striker claims to be in the best competition in the world, and highlighted the ‘big role’ he has at the Molineux side.

“That’s right, four countries. I believe that, with all humility and not because I’m there now, from the leagues I’ve been to I can say it’s without a shadow of a doubt the best league to play in,” said Matheus Cunha.

“It’s the best for learning and competing. Without a doubt, being at a level like this makes you grow a lot as a player and as a human being. Competing against the best every day, you have to raise the bar, put yourself up there to beat them.”

“I’m very happy to be in the Premier League today and to have a big role at the club I’m at. To have a great time in the Premier League will be motivating, it’s a league that makes you grow a lot and compete against the best.”

Cunha was used in the final minutes of Brazil’s 5-1 win against Bolivia, and is now hoping he could get a chance to start against Peru, especially because Richarlison hasn’t been doing great with the national team lately.

Once done with the national team, the striker rejoin Wolves, who prepare for the tough challenge against Liverpool, which is taking place on Saturday.
