Sad news: Norwich City to miss their top man for long

Nunez is out of action for the upcoming Championship games as he recovers from an ankle injury sustained during Chile’s World Cup qualifying campaign. He was pictured in crutches after returning to Carrow Road on Saturday. Wagner confirmed Nunez will require a protective boot after further scans showed the injury was more serious than initially thought, meaning he will be in the boot for at least the next 10-14 days. However, the manager added that there is a small chance Nunez could make it ahead of October’s next international break. If not, Wagner added that Nunez will return to the squad after the international break at the latest.

Giannoulis was taken off in the second half and is expected to be back in time for the visit of Leicester City in the next week after feeling a slight injury to his quad, which I spoke to him about afterwards and he doesn’t think it’s too bad.” Wagner was left frustrated by City’s inability to hold on to a 1-0 lead at Carrow Road thanks to Jack Stacey’s first-half opener, and it was another step in full-back development for Placheta, who made his first competitive appearance in an unfamiliar defensive role. “He’s got everything to be a really good full-back in our way of thinking,” Wagner said. “He’s got the skills and the mentality, which is really important, to be a really attractive option and a strong one in this position.

Marcelino Núñez y su renacer en Norwich: «Lo estaba pasando mal» | OneFootball

Our game management could have been better in the final five minutes or even in stoppage time when we had opportunities to extend the game clock. We played a great first half, but we lacked the finishing touch. We were able to occupy the right areas, put in a lot of effort, and our counter pressing was top-notch. We pushed in the last few seconds of the first half and scored a well-deserved goal. The second half was a top-notch shift in workload, and I am very proud of what our players have shown. We did not play as well as we would have liked, but we did not take advantage of a few good chances to end the game. We need to make sure we fight until the last second if we want to get the result. I am absolutely delighted with how we played the first half, as well as how we defended. We were up against a very good team with some very good individuals.
