Manor Solomon turned down offers from Aston Villa, Brighton, and Fulham this summer, amid speculation that he was interested in joining Tottenham Hotspur. According to a report by Ynet in Solomon’s native Israel, a reporter was sent to London to talk to the Tottenham winger, who reportedly had offers from other English clubs. Ynet reports that Fulham’s interest in Solomon comes as no surprise, as he played for the club last season. However, Villa and Brighton appear to have joined the race for his signature. The report goes on to say that Solomon told close friends that he wanted to join Tottenham and turned down all other offers.

Solomon joined Spurs from Shakhtar Donetsk in the summer after FIFA lifted the suspension of foreign players in Ukraine. It appears Spurs have not yet finalised terms with the Israel international, who Shakhtar have asked for €6.5m – €6.6m – in remuneration. There hasn’t been much movement – at least publicly – on that front, but Solomon is already making a good impression under Ange postecoglou’s watch. In his first start against Burnley before the international break, Solomon completed five key passes, had two assists and had three successful dribbles in total. On Saturday, he was at it again, completing four key passes, with one shot on target, and had four successful dribbles as he provided a real spark on the left flank. It’s clear that Solomon is putting the pressure on new signing Brennan Johnson.
