Report: Norwich City representative scouted Champions League team on Saturday for possible signing
A Bola report has revealed that a representative of Norwich City was present in Portugal on Saturday to observe a Champions League team for potential signing. This is a practice that has been conducted for some time and is an indication of which clubs are interested in a player, often before any actual transfer attempts have been made. Norwich City are not one of the clubs
regularly seen in Portugal, and would rather focus their attention on larger spenders like Man Utd, Chelsea, and Tottenham. On Saturday, an official of Norwich was present at Vizela’s match against Benfica, which Benfica won 2-1 in front of the home
crowd. The next match for Norwich will be against Leicester City, while Vizela are not in a position to take the best players away from the Lisbon club.

Norwich City’s Jack Stacey shows his mum’s pride at the Canaries’ goal
Jack Stacey has conceded that Norwich’s 1-0 win over Stoke will be remembered for a long time to come – except for himself and his mum. The right back scored the winner as the Canaries kept their 100% start to the season going by beating Alex Neil’s side at Carrow Road on Saturday. Norwich were pushed to the limit in the second half but kept a clean sheet to move on from their first loss of the season to Rotherham United before the international break. Stacey scored his first goal since August 2020 and his mum was there to witness it – sitting alongside City’s majority shareholder Delia Smith alongside Michael Wynn Jones – as her son scored the winner. “It’s a great feeling, I didn’t know I had a few more now,” Stacey said. “I think most people will forget about this game, except me and my mum.
My mum was actually sitting next door to Delia. Last week when we had time off, Stuart Webber sent me a message saying Delia had two extra seats in the director’s box. I rang my mum right away and she was thrilled. “She had the time of her life today,” said Webber. “It just goes to show what kind of club Norwich are, not many owners invite their players’ families to join them, it’s a lovely touch.” Since signing for Norwich on a free transfer from Bournemouth last month, Stacey has made a positive impact on the pitch. His direct style of play has perfectly suited David Wagner’s attack.
Stacey is hoping his first goal for Norwich will be his last and believes the clean sheet is the result of a lot of hard work with first team coach Narcises Pelach. “I’m not supposed to be happy about the clean sheet, but I’m going to be playing this one a few times before I go home,” he said after City’s victory over Stoke. “I always thought I could get a bit more into the box and when you get there, it should fall to you.” He added: “I think it’s a result of working hard with Chicho and Narcises Pelach and analysing the game to make sure we’re in the right positions to get the ball. It’s a bit of what we’ve been working on and hopefully I can get a few more of them.
