Martindale backs up his “guarantee” assertion with “three or four” Rangers stars.
According to Livingston manager David Martindale, “three or four” Rangers players agreed to Willie Collum that he was incorrect to allow Abdallah Sima’s opening stand at Ibrox.
The Premiership opponent was enraged when the Senegalese attacker’s well-placed opening in Rangers’ 4-0 defeat at Ibrox was allowed to stand.
Abdallah Sima robbed Jamie Brandon on the edge of the Livingston box before curling home to send Rangers into the League Cup quarter finals at Ibrox.
David Martindale also thinks he can “pretty much guarantee” that if the roles had been reversed, Livingston would not have been awarded a goal against Rangers.
Rangers players agree goal should not have stood, according to David Martindale.
“The first goal is the game changer when you go away to Ibrox, Parkhead, the big clubs, it’s really, really difficult,” David Martindale said following Rangers’ defeat.
“The first goal changes the game’s dynamic, and it is a foul on Jamie.” It’s a flagrant foul, and I can say more online than I can on TV.
“I’m not going to say who I spoke to, but I spoke to three of four Rangers players, and they all said the same thing: ‘can’t believe the goal was given, can’t believe it wasn’t a foul.'”
“I can almost guarantee we won’t get that if it’s at the other end of the spectrum.”
Rangers were off to a good start with to an Abdallah Sima goal, and the club would go on to win by four clear goals thanks to efforts from Ridvan Yilmaz, Luiyi de Lucas (OG), and Ryan Jack.
While David Martindale may be upset, the goal has echoes of the disallowed Kemar Roofe goal against Celtic a few weeks ago.
And if the referees union was trying to balance the score, they shouldn’t have bothered.
Don Robertson had previously done his part when a just goal – much softer than this one – was wiped out at Ibrox.

Beale praises ‘eye-catching’ talent following his best-ever Rangers performance
Abdallah Sima’showed the way’ for Rangers on Wednesday night, netting the opener in a 4-0 Scottish League Cup quarter-final rout of Livingston.
Just three days after Mick Beale’s side was booed off the field after another lackluster performance against Motherwell, Abdallah Sima wasted no time in turning those jeers into cheers.
Rangers took just ten minutes to shatter Livingston’s resistance, with Sima scoring the goal and setting the home side on their path to perhaps their most comprehensive display of the season.
“It was a successful night for us. We waited a little longer. I think we could have sped up a little more at times, but our overall possession was much better than the weekend. “Abdallah really showed the way off the ball,” Beale tells Rangers Review.
Abdallah Sima impresses as Rangers win the League Cup
Dovetailing well with Ridvan Yilmaz – the left-back also scoring on a rare start – Sima did his chances of more regular game time no harm at all.

‘This is why we won the game.’
“Our left side was probably the reason we won the game,” Beale says. Yilmaz was chosen ahead of Borna Barisic and Sima, who scored against Real Betis a week ago.
“Abdallah and Ridvan.” Their combined intensity resulted in the first two goals.
“When teams are asked to play three games in seven days, then four in ten, the entertainment and energy levels will suffer.” I believe the best strategy for us is to simply keep winning. Take a look at the players who are out (injury).
“They are the players who bring guile and style to the table.” “However, I thought Abdallah was attractive.”
Hearts will now meet Rangers in the semi-finals on November 4th.
