Matt O'Riley: Celtic midfielder signs new four-year deal - BBC Sport

It’s never easy, is it? What a weekend of Premiership action for Celtic and star midfielder, Matt O’Riley.

There are ways to win football matches; if you can bottle up that win at Fir Park, then you would take it around with you.

Up until the 87th minute, it was goalless between Motherwell and Celtic, before chaos ensued, starting with Luis Palma, before Matt O’Riley’s quite incredible first-time finish and winner at the back post in the 97th minute.

It was an incredible winning moment for the ever-growing youngster, who was lauded on Instagram for his efforts.

Luis Palma, who had come on as a sub and helped start the ten minutes of madness, wrote in the comments section about Matt O’Riley ‘what a player’.

And rightly so, because he has been breathtaking since the start of the new season, that’s five goals in the Premiership.

Points gained for Celtic

The Bhoys didn’t know it at the time because they were the early kick off, but that’s three points gained in the title race.
