Sources: Following discussions with Celtic’s management, Sead Haksabanovic has decided to leave the club permanently.
According to Football Insider, Sead Haksabanovic wants to leave Celtic permanently next year.
After conversations with club officials in which he believed he was getting contradictory messages, Haksabanovic pressed for a loan move to Stoke City, which was finalised on deadline day.
The 24-year-old is now looking to relocate permanently, possibly in January or next summer.
Haksabanovic’s current Parkhead deal expires in 2027 after coming from Rubin Kazan last summer, but he has battled for playing time.
Football Insider stated on August 24th that the winger was looking to leave the club before the transfer window closed. A week later, he landed a last-minute loan move to Stoke.
The Montenegrin international had been startled by his lack of game time earlier this season, especially after the departure of fellow winger Jota, and was frustrated that he was still being ignored for selection.
Haksabanovic had been told by club hierarchy that he remained a key part of the club’s plans before he opted to make the switch to English Championship side Stoke.
The attacker has made four appearances for Stoke since his arrival last month and has started two of those outings, offering up one assist.
Haksabanovic appeared to be a bright spark at Parkhead early after his arrival from Russia, but he failed to break into the team with players like Jota and Daizen Maeda ahead of him.
Last season, the winger made 40 appearances for the Hoops in all competitions, scoring five goals from just 13 starts.
