The manager of Ipswich Town is in the running for a move to the Premier League.
According to journalist Alan Nixon, Ipswich Town manager Kieran McKenna is being considered for the Crystal Palace position, with the Eagles already planning for life after Roy Hodgson.
After the departure of Patrick Vieira from Selhurst Park in March, Hodgson was named as Palace’s manager. The veteran manager returned to Palace and succeeded in the short term, helping his team finish 11th in the Premier League last season after a slight relegation scare.
This success has continued into the current season, with Hodgson’s Palace most recently defeating Manchester United 1-0 at Old Trafford.
However, the 76-year-old former England manager appears to be done with the Eagles after this season.
Kieran McKenna, manager of Ipswich Town, is one famous name among many on the list of probable managers who could succeed Hodgson when he leaves the South Londoners.
Kieran McKenna’s Executive Career
It’s not surprising to see McKenna connected with prospective Premier League job opportunities; the 37-year-old has dramatically transformed Ipswich Town’s fortunes as manager after the Tractor Boys had previously languished in League One under uninspiring managers Paul Cook and Paul Lambert.
Kieran McKenna led Ipswich Town to automatic promotion in his debut season in command, amassing 98 points in a season in which McKenna’s players blew opponents away with their attacking prowess, scoring 101 goals in 46 games.
Ipswich have risen to the occasion.
