The ninth arrest has been made following a severe assault in Ipswich.

Nine people have been detained in connection with an incident that left a man seriously injured in Ipswich last week.
At around 9.30 p.m. on Friday, September 22, armed officers were called to the scene in Blackfriars Court, off Foundation Street.

Officers arrived to find a man in his 40s had been assaulted and had received a variety of injuries, one of which was possibly life-changing.

Following the event, Suffolk police reported the arrests of three men and three women.

On Monday, September 25, a seventh arrest was made, and the suspect was released on bond.

It has now been discovered that two more guys were arrested in connection with the Tuesday assault.

Following additional investigation, Suffolk police announced that all of the suspects had been interviewed and bailed.

The incident was described as “awful” by John Cook, Ipswich borough councillor for the Alexandra ward, which encompasses Blackfriars Court.

It is assumed that the victim and suspects are acquainted.
