McKenna: An Extraordinary Performance
Town manager Kieran McKenna praised his team’s 3-0 win over Hull City as a “special performance.”
Town won and returned to the top of the Championship table thanks to goals from Wes Burns, Conor Chaplin, and Marcus Harness.
“You have to keep saying it, you have to enjoy the moments.” “I thought it was a really special performance,” McKenna added.
“We talked about it before the game, and I thought we had one in us.” We had played nine games before to tonight. We’re in good shape, I believe we’re learning game by game, and this is our first home night game back in the Championship.
“I felt like we had a really good performance in us, and I thought we delivered on that.”
“I liked a lot of things.”
Town demonstrated their goal threat once more, scoring in their past 28 matches and scoring two or more goals in their last 16 home games.
“We do [believe we can score in every game], we try to have different ways and different threats, and we’ve developed that; it’s not like it was 10 years ago when there were questions about whether we’d score enough goals and things like that.”
“The players have really developed individually and as a team to try and have different threats, to try and play through the pitch, to be able to play in behind, to be able to combine centrally and to be a threat from crosses.”
“We were very clinical with the finish tonight.”
