The Celtic youth system has received a lot of praise for recently turning out excellent players.
The only grievances the Celtic supporters have are that there doesn’t appear to be a method to break into the first squad and that they have to keep watching while elite players like Ben Doak choose to pursue opportunities elsewhere.
It’s a problem that the club faces frequently, but hopefully it won’t affect the two players that Celtic B team coach Darren O’Dea stated.
Speaking on the Celtic website, O’Dea mentioned two players who had improved the B team: youthful Sean McArdle and Ronan Ferns. Should we keep an eye out for them in the future?
“Players like Sean McArdle and Ronan Ferns are the really young ones that are stepping up and have done really well,” O’Dea said in reference to Celtic FC.
However, many of the guys they are rising up along are also somewhat first-years. It’s taken them some time to get used to it.
“Yet we have made enormous progress from where we were following the season’s opening game to where we are now.”
Young McArdle, who just played in the UEFA Youth League 1-1 draw with Lazio a few weeks ago, has earned his first professional contract at Celtic.
The midfield player, who is highly regarded at Celtic, signed a three-year contract that would expire in 2026.
Although it was expected that 16-year-old Ronan Ferns would join Brighton in the summer, he is still with the team. The teenage center-back, who has a contract through 2026, is also highly regarded and has played for Scotland at the u16 level.
It appears that the Celtics have two very gifted young players on their team. The fans will be hoping that the club can find a way to get this young player into the Celtic first team because they have lots of time to develop them.
