REPORT: The Cleveland Browns will be without an offensive weapon for 1-2 weeks.
This week, the Cleveland Browns received devastating news regarding an injury to one of their offensive weapons. Due to a low-grade high ankle injury, running back Jerome Ford will be out for one to two weeks. Ford injured his ankle in Cleveland’s previous game, a 39-38 victory over the Indianapolis Colts. This information was provided by NFL insider and commentator Adam Schefter via Twitter.
Browns running back Jerome Ford, who exited Sunday’s win over the Colts with an ankle injury, was diagnosed with a “low grade, high ankle” sprain that will keep him out for 1-to-2 weeks, according to a source.
Jerome Ford Injury
Ford finished the game against the Colts with 10 carries for 31 yards before going down with the injury. The absence of Ford will mean that running back Kareem Hunt will be getting the start in next week’s matchup against the Seattle Seahawks. Hunt has played for the Browns before since 2019 and was the Kansas City Chiefs running back from 2017-2018. He has amounted to 4,128 total yards and 34 touchdowns in his career.
Running back Pierre Strong Jr. will likely trade reps with Hunt during the game this coming week. Strong is going into his second year in the league and his first year with the Browns. He played for the New England Patriots in 2022 and amounted to just 100 yards rushing and a touchdown. This season with Cleveland, he has gone for 102 yards and one touchdown.
Cleveland Browns Running Back Problems
Cleveland’s offense has been hampered by running back injuries since their standout runner, Nick Chubb, suffered a season-ending injury earlier this year. Fortunately, Ford’s injury is minor, and he should be back in play in a few weeks. His condition will most likely be updated throughout the week.
