Crystal Palace’s star is poised to make a significant decision regarding his international career – Two national teams are battling for him.
According to reports on Thursday, Crystal Palace star Michael Olise may be poised to represent Algeria’s national squad.
According to journalist Jugurtha Ibersiene, the player became a ‘priority’ for the African country’s FA.
According to a source close to the Crystal Palace winger, he is interested in playing for Algeria after realizing he would not be able to play for England or France.
Algeria is not alone in this race, as Nigeria is ‘not giving up’ and ‘doing everything’ to persuade the player to represent them instead.
Olise was born in London, but due to his French citizenship, he represented Les Bleus at the U-18 and U-21 levels.
A opportunity in the first team was never offered, and at the age of 21, it’s natural that he begins to consider his options in international football owing to his heritage.
Olise has not played for Crystal Palace this season due to a thigh injury. However, the club is optimistic about his comeback, and he might be back in the lineup in a couple of weeks.

According to the report, Crystal Palace is reportedly in early talks with Eze on a new £100,000-per-week contract.
Crystal Palace are now in advanced talks over a new contract for Eberechi Eze – but there is one problem.
It was the Evening Standard who shared this update.
So, what has been said about Eberechi Eze and Crystal Palace? Let’s take a look…
What’s the story?
Well, it is said that the Eagles are now in advanced talks with the England international over a new contract worth £100,000-a-week.
That would make Eze Crystal Palace’s joint-highest earner alongside Dean Henderson and Michael Olise.
Now – however – there is one last hurdle for Crystal Palace to clear.
The Evening Standard believe the “final sticking point” in negotiations with Eze is in regards to a release clause, with both the inclusion and value of such an option being discussed.
That – of course – could be deemed as problematic for some, as it suggests the Crystal Palace No.10 has one eye on a transfer later down the line.
Manchester City are mentioned as a potential destination for Eze in the Evening Standard’s story, with Pep Guardiola said to be a huge admirer of the 25-year-old.
What Crystal Palace will do after tying Eze down
Eze is not the only player Steve Parish and Dougie Freedman want to keep at Selhurst Park.
The Evening Standard add that Marc Guehi is next in line to discuss a new contract, with the likes of Arsenal, Tottenham, Manchester United and Liverpool said to be keeping a close eye on him.
While it’s encouraging to see Parish putting some effort into these contract talks, the risk is that gems like Eze and Guehi won’t want to sign a new deal, given the lack of ambition at Selhurst Park in previous years.
We wouldn’t be able to criticize any of our top performers if they turned down a new contract.
Parish, John Textor, Josh Harris, and David Blitzer appear to be OK with Crystal Palace finishing in the middle of the table every season.
While this will help the quartet’s bank accounts, it will not be enough to persuade talents like Eze and Guehi to spend more time at Crystal Palace.
