Another team has expressed interest in the in-demand Storm center.

Justin Olam is apparently garnering interest from another club after being linked with moves to the Warrington Wolves (Super League) and Wests Tigers (NRL).

Due to injuries to other squad members, the Melbourne Storm centre fell down the pecking order at the end of last season and only played in the Preliminary Final against the Penrith Panthers.

Due to his poor play, he only made six appearances for the Storm’s feeder club, the Sunshine Coast Falcons, in the 2023 Hostplus Cup, where Marion Seve and Young Tonumaipea were selected ahead of him.

After reportedly gaining a ton of traction from Super League club the Warrington Wolves, The Mole from Wide World of Sports has reported that St Helens RLFC have put their name in the race for Olam and are hunting to recruit him.

However, because Olam is under contract with the Storm until the conclusion of the 2026 season, the Storm would have to be willing to release him because he can’t negotiate with other clubs until November 1, 2025.

Earlier this month, Olam was linked with a player trade to the Wests Tigers including back rower Shawn Blore. This would not be the first player transfer between the two clubs, with Harry Grant and Paul Momirovski swapping in 2020.
