A fan who was hurt during the 2021 World Series between the Atlanta Braves and the Houston Astros has announced that they will sue both the Braves and former player Jorge Soler.

Soler was selected World Series MVP for his performance during the series, which provided Braves fans with unforgettable memories. However, one fan will remember the 2021 World Series as more traumatic.

According to the fan, they were gravely hurt when Jorge Soler launched a ball into the stands and struck them in the eye. According to Alexis Stevens of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution (subscription needed), a lawsuit has been filed in Cobb County Superior Court.

The injury occurred before to the fifth inning of Game 3 of the series. The fan and a couple of family members were sitting in the right-field area of Truist Park.

According to the complaint, “Defendant Soler threw the ball with such force and speed that it hit Ms. Norris directly in her right eye causing extensive and excruciating injury to her right eye.”

Shortly after the incident, the fan was taken to Truist Park for treatment of their injuries. According to the report, they were injured in numerous ways.

The plaintiff in the lawsuit wants a jury trial and an unknown sum to cover medical expenses and punitive damages. The Atlanta Braves appear to have declined to speak publicly on the situation.
