Vikings Reportedly Have Interest In 2 QB Prospects

After a slow start to the 2023 season, the Minnesota Vikings went on a run, seemingly bringing themselves back into the playoff race.

When things were looking up, Kirk Cousins suffered a season-ending injury.

This not only was the last game of the season for Cousins, but it could have been the last game of his career as a Viking.

His contract is up at the end of the year, and this injury could cause the Vikings to look elsewhere at the position in the offseason.

A Minnesota-based reporter, Darren Wolfson, seems to believe the Vikings are narrowing in on two quarterback prospects to take over.

Wolfson mentioned Jayden Daniels and J.J. McCarthy as two potential replacements in a recent “SKOR North” podcast.

Daniels is the current quarterback for LSU, and McCarthy is the quarterback for the University of Michigan.

Both players have raised their draft stock throughout the season and will likely be taken in the first round.

If current trends continue for the Vikings, they will likely have a draft pick in the middle of the first round, which could put them in a prime position to take one of these prospects.

Drafting a rookie QB has a set of risks, as they don’t always pan out.

However, as evidenced by the first few games with Josh Dobbs, the Vikings’ offense looked promising with a quarterback with rushing upside.

Both players tend to take off on the run when necessary, making them intriguing candidates to take over in this offense
