Breaking: Florida State is pushing for the massive signing of 3-star
Florida State is pushing for the massive defensive lineman to be one of the final pieces of its 2024 class.
There are less than two weeks remaining until the Early Signing Period gets underway and Florida State is still looking to make a couple of additions to close out its 2024 class. The Seminoles brought in nine official visitors over the weekend as the program gets closer to finishing up the cycle.
The coaching staff is looking to add another prospect to its interior defensive line and one of their top remaining uncommitted targets is three-star defensive tackle D’Nas White. He returned to Tallahassee for the third time this year for the final official visit of his recruitment.
“It was great. I loved it down here and they showed love,” White said to NoleGameday’s Dustin Lewis. “Overall, great weekend.”
The North Carolina native spent ample time with defensive tackles coach Odell Haggins. White enjoyed getting to be around him throughout the visit.
“It was awesome,” White said. “He’s real genuine, he’s a great person, a great coach, and he’s amazing.”
Florida State’s defensive line was one of the key pieces of a dominant defense in 2023. White believes he fits into the system that defensive coordinator Adam Fuller and Haggins have established.
“I feel like I fit in pretty good,” White said. I” play like this so they just got to teach me a few things so yeah.”
Prior to concluding his trip, White sat down with head coach Mike Norvell for a meeting in his office. Norvell told him that he could turn him into a great player if he chooses Florida State.
“He was just saying if I come here, he’ll treat me well, make me a better man, and just progress me into a great player,” White said.
What stands out about the Seminoles compared to other teams that are recruiting him?
“I just like the atmosphere and the fans,” White said. “I have a good relationship with the coaches and they’re real loyal.”
Coming out of the visit, Florida State is one of White’s top options. He’s also considering Tennessee and Miami down the stretch of his recruitment.
“They in the top two,” White claimed.
White currently does not have any plans to visit a school next weekend. As he moves into decision mode, his relationship with the coaches and what his family thinks about the program will be crucial in his choice. White will announce his commitment on Wednesday, December 20.
The 6-foot-4, 327-pound defensive lineman is regarded as the No. 683 overall prospect, the No. 74 DL, and the No. 22 recruit in the state of North Carolina in the 2024 class according to 247Sports.
