Ohio State DB Ryan Turner commits to Boston College
Boston College football has landed their fourth transfer of the cycle, with the addition of Ohio State cornerback Ryan Turner. The Class of ’22 recruit, who originally was high on Boston College coming out of Chaminade-Hollywood HS in Florida, announced his decision on social media. He has three years of eligibility remaining.
Turner, a former three star recruit (rated an 88 by 247sports.com) was on campus last weekend for an official visit and pulled the trigger shortly after. He has played limited snaps in both his seasons under Ryan Day, appearing in two games (27 snaps) this season, and 20 snaps last season. He earned a PFF grade of 72.0 for his performance this past season. Coming out of high school he had offers from Ohio State, BC, Clemson, Arkansas, Georgia, Florida, LSU and many others.
This is the second transfer defensive back that the Eagles have added in this cycle, along with Bryquice Brown out of Georgia State. Jeff Hafley’s secondary took a major hit this past season, and with injuries and transfers he needed to bolster the depth of the unit, especially looking for players who have experience. Turner, a rising redshirt sophomore should immediately be battling for starting snaps this spring.
Today’s addition is the fourth transfer to commit to Boston College, joining Kamari Morales a tight end out of North Carolina, Brown, and Treshaun Ward a running back out of Kansas State. With a big weekend of visitors coming up, stay tuned to Eagle Insider for more breaking news as it happens.
