BREAKING: Texas Longhorns Lose Talented Edge Rusher To The Transfer Portal
The Texas Longhorns are gearing up for their College Football Playoff matchup against the Washington Huskies. However, they are also having to deal with the transfer portal based on how the college football schedule falls. The program lost talented edge rusher Kristopher Ross to the transfer portal.
Texas Longhorns Lose Edge Kristopher Ross
Ross didn’t see the field much for the Longhorns. In his freshman year, he only had two tackles, and this year he only had one. He was carted off the field on September 16th with an elbow injury and never saw the field again. He is likely transferring for a change of scenery. There are a thousand reasons why players don’t get on the field and sometimes moving on is the best thing to do.
2024 Outlook
For Texas, this likely isn’t a huge loss. Ross wasn’t on the field much anyway and while it stinks to lose the younger prospect, Texas likely isn’t going to have any trouble convincing talent to come to the program. The Longhorns move to the SEC in 2024 which comes with a lot of new challenges. They will now have to compete with a large handful of teams who could feasibly with the conference in 2024.
Can the Texas Longhorns finish the 2023 season off with a national championship? It is going to be tough but they are simply two wins away from being back on top of the college football world.
