The UCLA Bruins, much like many college teams, are dealing with an influx of transfer portal entrances. Though the Bruins have been hit hard with QB Dante Moore, WR Kam Brown, and OL Jake Wiley entering the portal—they also lost their long snapper.

Beau Gardner announced his entrance into the transfer portal along with wide receiver Bradley Schlom, redshirt junior tight end Grant Norberg, and senior placekicker/kickoff specialist RJ Lopez.

Now, Gardner has officially announced that he has committed to the Georgia Bulldogs.

Gardner initially entered UCLA as a walk-on addition, but he is now set to head to the SEC. The Georgia Bulldogs ended the 2023 season with a 12-1 record and will take Florida State in the Orange Bowl.

Losing Gardner may not seem that significant, but it’s hard to find solid special teams players. This could end up being a huge blow to the offensive output of the Bruins should they not find a replacement for Gardner.
