Trade update: Is a dream come true – star agree to join Eagles

Eagles sign new wide receiver to the practice squad

Griffin Hebert - Football - LA Tech Athletics

The Philadelphia Eagles announced some practice squad news on Thursday afternoon.

The team signed Griffin Hebert, who is a tight end/wide receiver tweener. The Eagles are officially listing the 6’1”, 239-pounder as a WR.

Hebert, 24, attended Louisiana Tech before signing with the Seattle Seahawks as an undrafted rookie free agent following the 2023 NFL Draft. He had three catches for 21 yards in the preseason.

Scouting report via NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein:

Undersized tight end whose speed and fluidity in space basically make him a big slot receiver. Hebert had an excellent pro day, which should put him on the map as a priority free agent. Evaluators could grow to appreciate his mismatch potential and run-after-catch talent the more tape they consume. He needs to play with better effort as a blocker, but his athleticism, explosiveness and speed could make him a developmental project for a team.

Seems like a guy the Eagles might take a look at on their offseason roster.

In order to make room for Hebert, the Eagles placed Devon Allen on practice squad injured reserve. He has to miss four games before being eligible to return to the field. So, that means the Eagles’ final two regular season games and two playoff games.
