How Jordan Love and the Packers stunned the Cowboys: Live updates, reaction to Green Bay’s 48-32 win
Against a Dallas Cowboys team that hadn’t lost at home this season, the Green Bay Packers controlled the game from the opening drive, winning 48-32 and advancing to face the San Francisco 49ers in the divisional round next weekend.
Catch up on what you missed:
Packers cornerback Jaire Alexander and wide receiver Christian Watson were both active after they were questionable entering the day.
Green Bay marched 75 yards on 12 plays on its opening drive, taking a 7-0 lead on an Aaron Jones 3-yard touchdown.
Late in the first quarter, Alexander picked off Dak Prescott deep in Cowboys territory. Green Bay led 7-0 after the first quarter, while Prescott finished the opening frame with zero passing yards.
The Packers capitalized as Jones scored his second touchdown of the game, this one from 1 yard out, making it 14-0 with 14:15 to play in the first half.
Green Bay’s offense stayed hot in the second quarter, going 93 yards in 10 plays. Jordan Love hit Dontayvion Wicks for a 20-yard touchdown to extend the lead to 20-0.Less than two minutes later, Darnell Savage picked off Prescott and returned the interception 64 yards to make it 27-0 Green Bay with 1:50 left in the half.
Spurred by a strong kickoff return, Dallas closed the first half with a 12-play, 55-yard touchdown drive, getting on the board as time expired when Prescott completed a 1-yard touchdown to Jake Ferguson.
The Cowboys tacked on three points to begin the third quarter, with CeeDee Lamb catching four passes on the 12-play drive.
Green Bay answered with a five-play, 75-yard drive, capped by Jones’ third rushing touchdown, to go ahead 34-10 with 6:38 to play in the third quarter.
Tony Pollard scored a 1-yard touchdown with 3:03 left in the third quarter to make it 34-16. After a penalty on a two-point try, Dallas kicker Brandon Aubrey missed a 43-yard extra point.

Ferguson, the Dallas tight end, caught his second touchdown pass with 5:54 left in the game, and a two-point conversion cut the Green Bay lead to 48-24.Ferguson caught another touchdown with 3:25 left — his third — and Prescott ran in the two-point conversion to make it 48-32.
Green Bay recovered the onside kick, and Dallas only has one timeout remaining.
After a 47-yard completion from Dak Prescott to CeeDee Lamb, the Cowboys are actually outgaining the Packers (427-413). Green Bay won’t mind, I’m sure.
If the Packers win, we’ll have our first divisional-round matchup for next week — the No. 7 Packers against the No. 1 49ers. The Lions-Rams and Buccaneers-Eagles winners would face each other.
Cowboys tight end Jake Ferguson hauls in his second touchdown of the game, and a two-point conversion makes it 48-24 Packers. But Dallas would need three touchdowns — and three two-point conversions — in the final 5:54 to come back.
Green Bay QB Jordan Love has entered rarefied air, becoming just the fifth QB in NFL history to throw at least three TD passes in his playoff debut. He joined Houston’s C.J. Stroud, who pulled off the feat Saturday, San Francisco’s Brock Purdy (2023), Washington’s Sammy Baugh (1937), and – ironically – Dallas’ Dak Prescott (2017). Love currently has a perfect 158.3 passer rating.
Aaron Jones made history as well, becoming only the second player in Green Bay’s 102-year history to have three rushing TDs and 100 rushing yards in a playoff game. The other was Ryan Grant, who went off for 201 rushing yards and three rushing TDs in Green Bay’s divisional round win over the Seahawks in 2008. Jones is up to 19 carries for 115 yards (6.1 yards per carry).
