Cleveland Browns RB Had Surgery to Fix Painful Adductor

The Cleveland Browns had a decent season despite the many setbacks they have faced this season. Their running back room was especially challenged after Nick Chubb went down with a horrifying injury early in the season.

Fortunately, Chubb’s set to return to a team that wants to keep his services. Meanwhile, the man who took over his responsibilities in the backline went under the blade to fix his torn adductor.

Kareem Hunt was listed on the Browns’ injury list for much of the season due to his ruptured adductor muscle. However, he played through the injury to assure the team had a reliable running game while they were trying to address their issues at quarterback.

ABC News’ Jeremy Fowler reported that the 28-year-old immediately had his torn adductor addressed once the season was over. Such injuries usually required six to eight weeks of recovery after surgery, so it’s understandable why the Toledo alum decided to postpone the procedure as long as possible.

Browns coach Kevin Stefanski had nothing but positive things to say about Hunt:

“Well, I’ll say this about Kareem. I’m so appreciative of him and the way he played and the style with which he played. Obviously, pre-injury to  Nick [Chubb], we didn’t have a spot, but to Kareem’s credit, he stayed in great shape. We brought him in, worked him out. He looked great, picked back up the system right away and played really good football for us and made plays in high-leverage moments and scored touchdowns,” Stefanski said. “He provided huge value for us and he’s a battler. Love the way he runs. The style with which he runs gave us a huge jolt that we needed.”
