Packers Are Reportedly Expected To Release All-Pro Tackle
David Bakhtiari’s time with the Green Bay Packers has been stellar.
Still, he hasn’t been the player he used to be since injuries derailed his career, and his days in Wisconsin could be coming to an end.
According to a report by The Athletic, the team is likely to part ways with the 32-year-old in the following days (Via Dov Kleiman).
The All-Pro LT tore his ACL in practice late in 2020, and he hasn’t been able to shake off that injury ever since, playing in only one game last season.
He’s been in Wisconsin for the first 11 years of his career, and he’s about to enter the final year of his record-setting contract extension.
Needless to say, multiple teams could still be intrigued to make a run at the dominant offensive lineman, with the New York Jets looking like a logical potential destination and fit.
Aaron Rodgers teased the Jets to try to trade for him last season by posting some cryptic messages on social media during the offseason but to no avail.
The Jets have a decimated offensive line, and they definitely need to do something to protect their future Hall of Famer.
