Former San Francisco 49ers running back Mike Davis announced on X that he retired from professional football.

“As I turn 31 today, I sit back and look on my NFL career and how thankful I am to be apart of a brotherhood. This game has allowed me to make a lot of friends and memories. I’m grateful for every organization in NFL. With that being said I’m retiring!✌🏾

He was drafted by the San Francisco 49ers in 2015.

San Francisco drafted Mike Davis in the 4th round, 126th overall in the 2015 NFL Draft.

Davis appeared in six games in 2015, recording 58 yards on 35 attempts and seven receptions for 38 yards. He suffered a fractured hand in Week 8. He was placed on injured reserve and missed eight weeks.

Davis appeared in eight games in 2016, recording 50 yards on 19 attempts and one touchdown. He also had three receptions for 25 yards. He was a healthy scratch for their last eight games.

San Francisco released Davis after attempting to trade him during the 2017 NFL Draft.

He was claimed by a division rival.

He spent the next two seasons with the Seattle Seahawks.

Seattle claimed Davis off waivers on May 8, 2017.  He was waived during roster cuts and re-signed to their practice squad. He was promoted to their active roster on November 14. He appeared in six games in 2017, recording 240 yards on 68 attempts and 15 receptions for 131 yards.

Seattle signed him to a 1-year, $1,350,000 contract during the 2018 offseason. He appeared in 15 games in 2018, recording 514 yards on 112 attempts and four touchdowns. He also had 34 receptions for 214 yards and one touchdown.

After spending some time with the Chicago Bears in 2019, he was on the Carolina Panthers for the next two seasons.

Chicago signed Davis to a 2-year, $6,000,000 contract. He appeared in seven games with Chicago in 2019, recording 25 yards on 11 attempts and seven receptions for 22 yards. Chicago released him on November 9.

Carolina claimed him off waivers on November 11. He appeared in five games with Carolina in 2019, recording two yards on two attempts.

Davis appeared in 15 games in 2020, recording 642 yards on 165 attempts and six touchdowns. He also had 59 receptions for 373 yards and two touchdowns.

He signed a contract with the Atlanta Falcons in 2021.

Davis signed a 2-year, $5,500,000 contract with Atlanta. He appeared in 17 games in 2021, recording 503 yards on 138 attempts and three touchdowns. He also had 44 receptions for 259 yards and one touchdown.

Atlanta released him on May 2, 2022.

He spent some time with the Baltimore Ravens in 2022.

Davis signed a 1-year, $1,272,000 contract with Baltimore. He appeared in eight games in 2022, recording 18 yards on eight attempts and two receptions for four yards.

Baltimore waived him on December 10.
