Breaking: Ravens QB Lamar Jackson appears on U.S. men’s national team players
Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson has proven he can dominate on the football field at every level. Jackson won the Heisman Trophy as college football’s best player in 2016, then three years later won his first of two NFL MVP awards before winning his second this past season.
But what about other sports?
Apparently, Jackson thinks he could dominate on the soccer field too, or at least he’d like to try.
Jackson posted on social media, a doctored photo of his head on a U.S. men’s national team player on Sunday with the caption, “GOALLLLLLLLLLLL!!” That was followed by a post saying, “Just sitting here thinking….. I could’ve been on some Lionel Messi or Kylian Mbappé type.”
Jackson previously eluded to a love of soccer during the 2022 World Cup final. In that game, Argentina beat France via penalty kicks (still a weird way to determine a sport’s world champion, but I digress).
After the game Jackson showed his admiration for both Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe. So a love of soccer is something Jackson is clearly proud of.
Regardless of his love of soccer, he has dominated on the football field. Aside from the Heisman Trophy and two league MVPs, the former Louisville Cardinal has been to three Pro Bowls and registered a career record of 58-19 as a starter. Sorry, for you soccer fans, that should read, 58-19-0.
Jackson also led the Ravens in rushing in 2023, showing of his wheels on a regular basis. I wonder how that would translate to the soccer field. We’ll hopefully never know.
