Breaking: Titans Agrees Deal to Land $37.8 million Talented WR Ahead of Pro Day

The Tennessee Titans have been very active in the 2024 offseason making moves left and right.

On Tuesday, March 26th, some of the staff for the Titans attended the pro day for LSU wide receiver Malik Nabers where they met and talked with him before this year’s NFL Draft. Nabers has been mentioned in several mock drafts as a prime candidate for the team who has a great need at the wide receiver position, even after signing free agent wide receiver Calvin Ridley.

There is still a lot of speculation about who the Titans will choose with their seventh overall pick, but Malik Nabers is still very much an option.

Why Nabers is an ideal fit for the Titans

In the 2023 season, Tennessee struggled greatly at the wide receiver position with the only notable name on the roster being Deandre Hopkins, who carried the load for the unit. Other wide receivers on the team’s 2023 roster included Treylon Burks, Kyle Philips, Mason Kinsey, Chris Moore, and Colton Dowell.

When looking at this list of names, nobody truly stands out besides Deandre Hopkins, who had established himself as one of the elite receivers in the league even before joining the Titans in 2023.

Chris Moore left the Titans this offseason and signed a deal with the Arizona Cardinals while the rest of the names above will continue to play for the Titans in the 2024 season. Treylon Burks was a huge prospect coming out of Arkansas but since being in the league has not done enough to prove himself yet as a reliable NFL receiver.

The Titans signed Calvin Ridley this offseason which will give a huge boost to the receiving corps, pairing him with Hopkins.

If the Titans go and get Nabers with the seventh pick in the NFL Draft, he will bring a lot of great talent to a receiving corps that greatly needs it. While at LSU, Nabers recorded 189 catches for 3,003 yards, a feat that will record him as the current LSU all-time leading receiver, and 21 touchdowns with an average of 15.5 yards a catch. While playing for the Tigers, Nabers played with elite 2024 quarterback prospect Jayden Daniels, which shows that Nabers pairs well with elite quarterback talent.

Nabers also recorded a broad jump that was ten feet, nine inches. It is a feat that would have been the sixth-best among wide receivers that attended the combine.

After meeting with the Titans before his pro day, the Titans are probably very happy with the numbers that Nabers recorded. He has definitely made a case to the Titans to select him with the seventh pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. The draft cannot get here soon enough.
