Breaking: Rams are closing in on a deal to land $54.1 million super bowl champion LB

The Rams used their fifth selection in the 2024 NFL Draft on Washington State linebacker Brennan Jackson, who was chosen in the fifth round, 154th overall.

Here’s what you should know about him:

1) Once a tight end

Jackson played both defensive line and tight end at Great Oak High School in Temecula, California.

2) One of multiple Senior Bowl participants in this year’s class

The annual college all-star event in Mobile, Alabama has been a good resource for the Rams, and it counted Jackson among its participants this year.

Besides Kinchens, Rams 2024 draftees Braden Fiske, Kamren Kinchens, Tyler Davis, Joshua Karty and Beaux Limmer.

3) Turned garage into home gym during COVID

According to a September 2023 by the Spokane (Washington) Spokesman-Review’s Greg Woods, when Jackson returned home to Temecula during the COVID-19 pandemic, he was so determined to continue working hard even with everything shut down that he brought lifting equipment from Great Oaks’ weight room and set it up inside his family’s garage.

For 3 months, he maintained a routine of waking up at 5 a.m., run a mile, come back from a workout, eating, spending time with family, then go back to the garage to do a core workout.

4) Came back to school to boost his draft stock, and also further his education

According to that same Spokesman-Review story, while Jackson could’ve turned pro after the 2022 season – he had played four seasons and earned his degree – he elected to turn to increase his draft stock and get his master’s degree in business administration.

5) Would’ve been due for a head-turning performance at the Senior Bowl if he hadn’t gotten injured

Reese’s Senior Bowl Executive Director Jim Nagy posted on X (formerly Twitter) that he wished Jackson “didn’t get hurt in Mobile because he would’ve opened some eyes.”
