Just In: Giants closed in on the QB deal due to high trade demands worth $362 million

After a disastrous 2023 NFL season, the New York Giants were thought to head into the offseason with their sights set on bringing in another quarterback to eventually replace Daniel Jones under center.

All signs pointed to the Giants potentially making a move in the 2024 NFL Draft to bring in Jones’ successor, but that didn’t happen as the team chose to address a number of different positions on both sides of the football, from wide receiver to safety.

However, the team did somewhat address the quarterback position during this NFL offseason with the team bringing in Drew Lock, formerly of the Denver Broncos and Seattle Seahawks.

There’s an outside chance that Lock could compete for the starting job in New York if Brian Daboll and company feel there should be an open competition in training camp ahead of the 2024 NFL season.

Along with Lock being added to the quarterback room, the Giants recently brought in another quarterback in the form of former New England Patriots quarterback Nathan Rourke, according to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network

Obviously, Rourke isn’t considered to be a game-changing player for the Giants, as he’s another body added to the depth chart along with Jones, Lock, and Tommy DeVito.

At this point in time, Jones looks like he’ll be the Week 1 starter for New York under center unless Lock really makes a competition out of it in training camp, which may irk some Giants fans who were hoping for a change at the position ahead of next season.
