19 Jaaroude ster sluit zich aan bij Anderlecht Van Italiaanse clubkant
Milan and Anderlecht have exchanged paperwork for highly-rated 19-year-old defender Jan-Carlo Simic to continue his career in Belgium. Despite the youngster’s burgeoning talent, the Serie A runners-up have shockingly opted for a sale, earning €3 million plus 20% of a future resale from his exit.
The club confirmed Simic’s departure on Tuesday.
“Milan can confirm that Jan-Carlo Simić has joined RSC Anderlecht on a permanent deal,” a statement reads. “The Club would like to thank Jan-Carlo and wishes him all the best in his personal and professional endeavors.”
Simic joined the Milan academy from Stuttgart in the summer of 2022. He has since developed into one of the most promising young defenders in Italian football, even captaining the Primavera side in last season’s UEFA Youth League.

On top of that, former Milan manager Stefano Pioli handed him his senior debut in December 2023. Simic repaid that trust with a goal in his maiden Serie A appearance, helping the Rossoneri thump Monza 3-0. He was part of the team’s matchday squad numerous times last term.
Instead of giving him a chance to prove his worth in pre-season, Milan have sold the prodigious center-back to Anderlecht. That’s nothing short of confusing, considering the teenager was supposed to be a defensive leader for the Italian powerhouse in the future.
Simic has signed a five-year contract at Anderlecht. His sale perhaps means Milan won’t negotiate Malick Thiaw’s departure amid talks Newcastle United could launch a concrete assault on the German defender.
